I’m Kathey Raskin and welcome to Kathey Jo’s Kitchen right here in Las Vegas. The summer is heating up and we all know it’s important to stay hydrated. But sometimes we don’t want to drink just water. This recipe helps you to soak up the H2O you need without missing out on taste. Plus, it’s chock full of vitamins! The other great thing about this recipe for homemade vitamin water is that you don’t have to worry about it being pumped full of sugar, artificial sweeteners, or anything else for that matter. It’s simply water, herbs, and some yummy fruits. So, drink up!
Nourishing Vitamin Water
What you’ll need:
- 2 cups watermelon, chopped up into cubes
- 1/2 a ruby red grapefruit, cut into smaller chunks
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- A handful of fresh mint leaves
- 2 quarts of water
- Some ice (if you want)
- Sparkling water like Perrier (if you’re feeling it)
What you need to do:
It’s best to prepare this the day before so your water has time to soak up all the goodness. Combine the fruit, cucumber, mint, and water in a large pitcher. Make sure you have enough room for all the ingredients before committing to a container. Let the water infuse overnight in the fridge. To serve, simply pour the water into fancy glasses which have some ice in them. Spoon a couple pieces of fruit into the glass, and then you can top with a splash of sparkling water. The water will stay fresh in the fridge for about one to three days.
